Getting started
The same three steps apply to every plugin. A free plugin runs on its own. A PRO add-on needs the free plugin and a license key. Each plugin guide then covers only what is specific to that plugin.
Install
A free plugin does not need a license key. Install it and activate it. PRO is a separate plugin. It does not hide code inside the free zip.
- Install the free plugin and activate it. If it is listed in WordPress, use Plugins → Add New. Otherwise upload the zip with Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
- Check that the free plugin works, using the steps in that plugin’s guide. Drafts and disabled post types are never part of the setup.
- For PRO, open My Account → Plugin files and download the zip. The download is offered only while the license is active. PRO requires the matching free plugin to be installed first.
- Upload that zip the same way, then activate it. Keep both plugins active. The PRO screen stays locked until the free plugin is active.
Deactivating a plugin does not remove the data it has stored. Uninstall rules differ by plugin and are described in that plugin’s guide. Do not delete the plugin folder if you want to keep its data.
License
The free plugin never asks for a key. PRO checks the key against wppluginspro.io. After both plugins are active, open the PRO screen in wp-admin and paste the key.
- Plans are 1 site, 5 sites or 25 sites. Each active production WordPress installation counts toward that limit. A staging, localhost or
.localaddress does not use a slot. - A News suite key unlocks every News PRO plugin on that one domain, including a News PRO plugin added later. It does not unlock Ecommerce plugins.
- An Ecommerce suite key does the same for the Ecommerce group. It does not unlock News plugins.
- An All-Access key covers both groups on the sites included in that plan.
- When the expiry date has passed, the PRO screens show a locked notice. Data already stored by the plugin stays in the database. You can keep using the last version you downloaded. New downloads and updates are offered again after the license is renewed.
Prices and the number of sites are on each plugin’s page. A suite is not a seventh plugin. It is one key for the plugins in that group.
Updates and downloads
PRO zip files are not posted as a public link. There is no file URL to share or bookmark.
- While the license is active, download the current zip from My Account → Plugin files.
- Install it with Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin. WordPress replaces the existing copy. You can also replace the plugin folder on the server with the folder from the zip.
- Leave the plugin installed. Updating replaces the files. Data the plugin has already stored stays.
A free plugin that is listed on WordPress.org receives its updates from there. Until it is listed, install a newer free zip the same way as a PRO zip. After the license expires, Plugin files stops offering a new PRO zip.
Plugin guides
The steps above are the whole shared setup. What a plugin counts, stores, or shows in wp-admin is in its own guide.
